Thinking out loud 06: Silent Meeting Manifesto
A few months have passed since my last newsletter. The main reason for the delay is that in the interim I’ve used my spare cycles to write a longer piece I just published on Medium: The Silent Meeting Manifesto v1. It’s a few thousand word-long guide to Silent Meetings and why everyone should adopt them.
Earlier this week I realized why I needed to publish this now. As usual, everyone in the room stopped talking half way through the meeting and started silently reading the “table read” for the meeting. Two new people on the team looked about the room in dreaded confusion. One of them raised their hand and asked, “Excuse me, but what are you all doing?” Why, Silent Meetings of course!
And so, I accelerated publishing so I could share it with others and work on future changes in parallel.
